Access to Reproductive Rights

According to United Nations Humans Rights, over 22 million unsafe abortions happen each year. This leads to 47,000 deaths due to difficulty during an abortion. These are entirely avoidable by making abortion accessible to women around the world. Abortion is something that women get shamed for, however it may be needed because of medical reasons, rape, fetal impairment, wanting a better life for your child, and in some cases incest. Abortions need to be more accessible because of the harmful effects.

Abortions must be safe, available, reasonably priced, and high quality. In some countries doctors can refuse to complete this procedure. This is an issue because women are going to get an abortion one way or another. The only difference between abortion being illegal and legal is that harmful effects that come with doing it unsafe. Making abortions illegal does nothing but jeopardize a woman’s health.

Illegal abortions are unsafe and need to become legal, so women can get the proper treatment that they need.

The harmful effects of abortions are the reason health care providers need to make them more accessible. When they become accessible they make abortions safe and more effective. “I have met thousands and thousands of pro-choice men and women. I have never met someone who is pro-abortion. Being pro-choice is not pro-abortion. Being pro-choice is trusting the individual to make the right decision for herself and her family, and not entrusting that decision to anyone wearing the authority of government in any regard.” - Hillary Clinton
